Replacement of light poles begins in city
LOCK HAVEN — Contractors working for PPL Electric Utilities will be replacing nearly 60 street light poles in the city over the next eight weeks.
Work by Aldridge Electric began Wednesday.
Affected streets include Church, Main, Water, First, Henderson and Jay, along with Bellefonte Avenue. The work will begin on Henderson Street and progress through other areas, wrapping up in mid-June.
Each night, crews will be covering parking meters for the following day’s work. Some work will occur on Saturdays. Flaggers will be used for the duration of the work and pedestrian access could be restricted in some cases.
PPL officials will be communicating with businesses and residences that might be affected by loss of service as the new poles are installed.
Extensive flagging will be in place for public safety.
