Trolley tracks exposed during construction

Memories of the old trolley system in Lock Haven in the late 19th and early 20th centuries came back to some residents this week as workers from Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. continued a reconstruction project on Jay Street in downtown Lock Haven. The trolley tracks were obvious to workers and passers-by who could clearly see them from the sidewalks. Meanwhile, the project is moving along, with the first phase, on Jay Street from Water to Main streets, nearing completion. Next, crews will replace Jay Street from Main to Church streets, with completion expected by May 12. And finally, the four-way intersection at Water and Jay streets will be closed to traffic from June 5 to 9. This will include closing Veterans Bridge and a detour will reroute traffic along Route 150 over to Dunnstown and down Mill Hill Road. There is also work taking place along Paul Mack Boulevard concurrently with the downtown work.
