LOCK HAVEN — The annual LH JAMS Festival is supported by the “Art and All That Jazz” reception. This year’s fun event is set for Friday, Aug. 18 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center at Lock Haven University.
“Passports” are required to attend.
The 2017 LH JAMS Passport grants the owner admission to the reception, as well as certain discounts on merchandise and food during the Lock Haven Jazz and Art on Main Street Festival events the following day. Proceeds will benefit future live music festivals.
The reception will include live jazz and food. A cash bar will be available. Everyone is encouraged (but not required) to dress in Jazz Era costumes. Prizes will be awarded for the top male and female ensembles.
Musical performances during the reception will include the soothing sounds of Connor Rohrer and Gabriel Severn; the classic vocals and instrumental styling of Nancy and Spencer Reed; and the incomparable jazz pianist Steve Rudolph with Philadelphia jazzman Larry McKenna on saxophone.
Limited seating is available, and those interested are advised to get their passports as soon as possible. Passports may be ordered online at www.lhjams.org and purchased by clicking on the PayPal link, or by emailing the Clinton County Arts Council at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The reception and its supporters “are really the life-blood of all this,” said festival director Steve Getz.
LH JAMS is also supported by a Clinton County Community Foundation grant, a Clinton County tourism grant, individuals and businesses.
The downtown festival events on Saturday, Aug. 19 are free.
