‘Jeeps And Java’ at Piper

LOCK HAVEN — The Piper Aviation Museum is trying something new to show off the museum to non-aviation folks.

It’s a Jeeps And Java social event in the parking lot of the museum at 1 Piper Way. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 17. Jeep enthusiasts are invited to come show off their jeeps and gadgets while they network and have coffee and doughnuts.

During the event, there will be discussion of the upcoming Mystery Jeep Cruise, which is tentatively planned for October and will be a fundraiser for the museum. This year will be the second year for the event. Last September was the first, with 11 jeeps going on an historic mystery ride through Sproul State Forest. The dinner afterward was catered by Curt’s Smoking Ribs and had a DJ.

“It was a great day, and we hope for more,” said John Bryerton, board president of the Piper Museum. “We hope this is the beginning of a close relationship between the flyers and the Jeep trail riders.”

The Piper Museum is open daily. For further information, contact the museum at 570-748-8283.
