Four vie for Centre County Grange Fair Queen
CENTRE HALL — This year’s Centre County Grange Fair Queen Pageant will be held on August 16 at 6 p.m., on the Southside Stage at the fairgrounds.
This year’s contestants are:
r Katie Hartle is the 17-year-old daughter of B.J. Hartle and the late Richard Hartle. She will be a senior at Bellefonte Area High School and plans to go on to college for nursing. She is a FFA member, serves veterans meals and enjoys hunting. She works at Mammoth Spring Farms.
r Amelia Miller is the 16-year-old daughter of Randy and Lisa Miller. She will be a junior at Bellefonte Area High School. She plans on attending college and pursuing a career in foreign affairs or international relations. She is a 4-H member and plays the violin.
r Megan Royer is the 18-year-old daughter of Robert and Karen Royer of State College. She is a 2017 graduate of State College Area High School and is attending Penn State studying Agricultural education and extension. She is a FFA member and this past spring completed an internship with the USDA as a Biological Technician Intern.
r Gabrielle Swavely is the 18-year-old daughter of Steve and Jeanette Swavely of Pennsylvania Furnace. She is a 2017 graduate of State College Area High School. She is taking a year off before attending college. Her goal is to open a restaurant or become a vet tech.
This year’s Grange Fair begins Thursday, Aug. 17.
