Fun at the Follies

Flaming Foliage Festival events underway

The annual Flaming Foliage Festival’s Follies show was held Saturday evening at the Bucktail Area High School, a reminder to all that Flaming Foliage Weekend is now less than two weeks away. The future king and queen contest opened up the evening as many of the entrants drew laughs from the crowd when the toddlers were asked to speak to the audience. Above, this year’s winners were Future King – Tanner Thompson, son of Layla Thompson and Joel Kinney and Future Queen – Rylee Jo Shady, daughter of Justine and Seth Shady of Loganton. Bucktail High School cheerleaders performed a skit at the Follies, wondering what they would be if they were not cheerleaders. From left are Valerie Long, Anna Cowfer, Kailah Ross, Bethany Gregory, Tori Brumbaugh, Katelyn Pick and Rachel Goss. The Bucktail Homecoming Court put on their version of the dating game. As for her part Tori Brumbaugh chose her redneck date Cody Hand. The court will be celebrating Homecoming Week over the next few days with an emphasis on school spirit. A community bonfire is planned during Homecoming 2017 this Friday night when the Bucktail Bucks host Sayre on the football field.
