Last call: Today is deadline to register to vote

LOCK HAVEN — Today is the last day to register to vote in the general election Tuesday, Nov. 7.

And, Tuesday, Oct. 31 is the last day to apply for an absentee ballot (for all civilians). Absentee ballots must be filled out and returned to the county board of elections on or before Nov. 3.

The upcoming election in Clinton County will decide who sits in five out of nine seats on the Keystone Central School Board.

The magisterial district judge seat based in Lock Haven is also a contested race and will be decided by this election.

Other contests are for county treasurer, Lock Haven City Council, and various municipal positions of leadership.

To register to vote, you must be:

r A citizen of the United States for at least one month before the election.

r A resident of the voting area for at least 30 days before the election.

r At least 18 years old on election day.

Registration must be done only once, but changes in residence, name, or political party affiliation need to be reported.
