Lock Haven University holiday concerts begin Dec. 1

LOCK HAVEN — Talented Lock Haven University students will present three holiday concerts early in December.

The LHU Choir’s winter concert will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1 in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center.

Under the direction of Dr. Julie Junghwa Park, the concert program will feature a wide spectrum of genres from classical and jazz to traditional folk tunes and gospels. In addition, the LHU Choir will again host special guest artists from New York City, the Kim Trio.

The following day, the choir will present a holiday concert for donors and alumni at 2 p.m. in Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center.

The program will include classic selections like “White Christmas,” “Silent Night,” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”

The concert will also feature special guest artists from New York City including a violinist, a cellist, and a pianist.

Light refreshments and snacks will be provided. Seating is limited, so those wishing to attend should make a reservation by next Thursday by emailing Dr. Julie Park at jxp851@lockhaven.edu.

The LHU Jazz Choir’s holiday concert is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6 at The Station Gallery, 2 E. Bald Eagle St., Lock Haven.

The program will include many favorite holiday standards like “All I Want for Christmas is You,” “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)” and “Winter Wonderland.” The concert is free and open to the public, however seating is limited and reservations are encouraged.
