Bellefonte to host ‘First Sunday’ this weekend
BELLEFONTE — Bellefonte continues to move forward when it comes to its business community, and this coming Sunday is no exception.
On Sunday Bellefonte will be having its first “First Sunday,” a preview of what will become a monthly event in 2018. There will be 22 downtown businesses participating in what is a collaboration between Bellefonte Keystone Community Development Association, also known as BelleKey, and local business owners.
“It is an extension of the Bellefonte Art Museum’s already existing First Sunday event highlighting local artists and new exhibits,” explained Bellefonte Keystone Community Development Coordinator Shannon Wright. “As the event evolves in 2018, we hope to feature our local businesses and artists, as well as incorporate enticing activities and entertainment for the community.”
Among the 22 participating businesses, some will have special hours on Sunday. In addition, Bellefonte’s very own small business incubator, SpringBoard, will be holding an open house from noon to 4 p.m. During this time, local service-based businesses will be showcased, along with art by local artist Jean Forsberg. There will be hot chocolate and snacks by Brazilian Munchies.
The businesses that will be at SpringBoard include 3twenty9 Design, Brazilian Munchies, Elite Edge Athletics, Hello Social Co., Inspired Holistic Wellness, and Village Eatinghouse.
Visitors to SpringBoard will also be entered into a drawing to win a local business prize pack, which will be a mix of items from local businesses and gift certificates.
