SVRCS students make homemade sauerkraut

The Sugar Valley Rural Charter School Future Farmers of America students recently made sauerkraut at the school as part of a learning project and a fundraiser. The group cut, chopped and stomped bushels of locally grown cabbage into what, in eight weeks, will become homemade sauerkraut. FFA advisors Chuck Bechdel and Robbie Weaver projected that the finished product will be ready for pickup on Dec. 18. For information on how to obtain some of the homemade kraut, call the school and ask for FFA advisor Mr. Bechdel at 570-725-7822.
