Barth is assistant principal at Jackson Primary School
WILLIAMSPORT — Former Bucktail High School Assistant Principal Tyler Barth has accepted a position as assistant principal of Jackson Primary School in the Williamsport Area School District at a salary of $81,600.
Barth became assistant principal and supervisor of athletics at Bucktail High School at the beginning of the 2016 school year.
Barth is a 2004 graduate of Central Mountain High School, and graduated from Lycoming College in 2008 with a degree in Psychology and Elementary Education.
Prior to his appointment at Bucktail, he spent seven years teaching in Keystone Central School District at Sugar Valley Elementary, Dickey Elementary and Liberty-Curtin Elementary. He served as an assistant baseball coach at Central Mountain High School for nine seasons.
His wife, Rachel, is a third grade teacher at Salladasburg Elementary in the Jersey Shore Area School District, and they are parents of a daughter, Mia Lyn.
Jackson Primary School is located at 2500 Newberry St. in Williamsport.
At Jackson, Barth will replace assistant principal Roger Freed, who was recently transferred to a job at the Williamsport High School. Freed had only served in that position through the fall of 2017.
