Brooklyn Kopp ‘gives back’ on 5th birthday

At top, Brooklyn and her birthday party guests enjoy a swim in the pool at the Lock Haven Area YMCA.

LOCK HAVEN — Brooklyn Kopp turned 5 years old on Jan. 8. She celebrated her birthday at the Lock Haven YMCA with a swim/Moana themed party with her parents Tony and Liza Kopp and many friends and family. Brooklyn and her dad dressed up as Moana and Maui from the movie.

Celebrating with friends and family wasn’t enough for Brooklyn, Tony and Liza. They chose to celebrate by “giving back” to their community and to other very special programs. The Kopp family requested that contributions be made to the Clinton County United Way in celebration of her birthday.

The Clinton County United Way is so grateful and appreciative for this contribution and what a great lesson for little Brooklyn and the other children about giving back and thinking of others.

That request was filled by their following friends and family as of today and The Clinton County United Way wanted to thank them for their generosity: Anthony and Lisa Kopp, Ariel and Amanda Force, Lucy and Richard Kopp, Frances and Dennis Fledderman and Tyler and Adrianna Neimond.

Other contributions have been made through online donations. We will share that information as it becomes available.

In addition, Brooklyn had 12 inches of her hair cut off the day after her birthday and donated it to the “Kids for Wigs” program (https://www.wigsforkids.org/donate-your-hair/).

If you or someone you know is having a birthday/celebration and is interested in donating to The Clinton County United Way or our partner agencies or teaching children about the importance of community and giving back, please contact the Clinton County United Way at 570-748-7856.
