LHU to name top two candidates for president

LOCK HAVEN — The two top candidates to become the 15th president of Lock Haven University will be announced Monday morning.

The search committee will announce the names during a special meeting of the LHU Council of Trustees to be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, in the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center’s second-floor Lytle Board Room.

The meeting is open to the public.

The trustees will accept, or reject, one or both candidates. Once they do recommend two candidates, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors steps in to interview the final two and then choose the person who will lead LHU into the future.

Dr. Michael Fiorentino Jr. is the current president of LHU, but will retire this month.

Guy Graham, a trustee and past president of the council, chaired the search committee which was tasked with narrowing down a wide field of applicants to four. In addition, the search consulting firm RPA Inc. was brought on board

All four chosen candidates visited campus this past week. They are Dr. Rodney Hanley, Dr. Brian DePoy, Robert Pignatello and Dr. Kimberly Johnston.
