Boy pulled from Pine Creek River

PINE CREEK — A 7-year-old boy was rescued from Pine Creek River and reportedly taken to a local hospital yesterday afternoon.

The rescue took place along Route 44 near Ramsey Village. The Lycoming County Communications Center called for additional help with the effort around 3 p.m., and the Avis Fire Department had a boat in the water half an hour later, as heard on the scanner.

An adult woman was apparently rescued before the boy was found, according to NorthCentralPa’s Facebook page.

The boy was finally located and rescued at 3:54 p.m. No report on his condition or any further information was available at press time.
