PennDOT announces road, bridge work for next week
BELLEFONTE — PENNDOT Centre County Maintenance announces the following work schedule for the week of Sept. 3 through Sept.7, weather permitting.
r Bridge Repairs on Route 445, Madisonburg Mountain near Krislund Church Camp.
r Drainage Improvements on Route 144 at Runville; Route 504 in Union Township near Jacob and Egypt Road; Route3006 at Valley View; Route 3008 at Purdue Mountain Road.
r Mill/Fill Operations on Route 880 from Route 192 to Clinton County Line; Route 2014 at Heckman Cemetery Road.
r Mowing at various locations.
r Patching on Route 2012.
r Signs at various locations for repairs and upgrades. Various locations for repairs and upgrades
r Shoulder improvements on I-99 at various locations and Route 45.
The following work is scheduled to be completed by contractor, weather permitting.
Francis J. Palo, Inc will continue construction on SR64 in Walker Township near Snydertown Road closest to Lamar. They will have temporary traffic signals in place, along with barriers on the bridge deck for half width construction. That means there is a 12-foot width restriction in place during construction. They will begin removing the asphalt wearing surface from the bridge deck and perform bridge repairs. Next they will place new concrete bridge deck on the structure. The work is anticipated to last until Oct. 2.
In conjunction to the lane closure on SR64, Snydertown Road will be closed where it intersects with SR64 nearest to the structure. Anyone wanting to access Snydertown Road will need to do it from Hublersburg side and there will be a detour setup directing motorists. They will be working on phase 2 deck replacement and working on sub structure bridge repairs. New deck cure and continue working on substructure bridge repairs. Form and pour bridge barriers. No work on Monday, Sept. 3 due to the holiday.
Francis J. Palo, Inc will continue work on SR144 in Milesburg which will include superpave asphalt mixtures for base and wearing course, guiderail, pavement markings and miscellaneous construction. The total construction length is approximately 4317 feet (0.82 miles). There will be a lane closure that flaggers will be in place alternating traffic patterns.
Glenn O. Hawbaker will continue construction on I-99 in College and Patton Townships. The project on I-99 will begin at Segment 0694 Offset 1914 Northbound and Segment 0695 Offset 2262 Southbound to Segment 0734 Offset 2545 Northbound and Segment 0725 Offset 2130 Southbound, for an approximate of 6.06 miles. Construction will consist of existing concrete separated limited access highway superpave bituminous pavement, milling and resurfacing, concrete patching, shoulder upgrades, structure repairs and rehabilitation, guiderail, signs, pavement markings and miscellaneous construction. There will be night work starting Tuesday, 9/4 through Friday, 9/7, paving the Southbound travel and passing lanes. Work hours will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. using short term traffic control during working hours.
Glenn O. Hawbaker will be doing day work starting Tuesday, 9/4 through Friday, 9/7, repairs to the Northbound and Southbound bridges over the Bellefonte hiking trail. This work is on the underside of the bridges and will have no impact to traffic.
Contractor will begin milling operations on SR322 site 4 on Tuesday, 9/4, Wednesday, 9/5 and possibly Thursday, 9/6 from Segment 0012 Offset 1135 to Segment 0110 Offset 2900 (Centre Street to Old Philipsburg State Police Barracks). This work will take place on night shift beginning at 6:00 pm and ending by 6 a.m. the following morning. Paving operations are scheduled to begin Thursday, 9/6 through Friday, 9/14. Paving will take place on the night shift between 6 p.m. and ending by 6 a.m. the following morning.
