PennDOT lists road, bridge work for next week

PENNDOT announces the following work schedule for the week of Sept. 10 through Sept. 14, weather permitting. Motorists should travel with extra caution in these and all work areas. Motorists should be aware that due to the nature of highway maintenance and emergency work, crews could be working on any highway at any time of the day or night.

CENTRE COUNTY

r Bridge Repairs on Route 445 – Madisonburg Mountain

r Drainage Improvements –Route 144, Moshannon, Monday; Route 144 Runville, Wednesday to Friday; Route 150, Liberty Township in Blanchard, Tuesday; Route 322,Worth Township, Monday to Wednesday; Route 350, Rush/Taylor Townships, Thursday to Friday; Route 3006, Valley View; Route 3008, Purdue Mountain Road.

r Guiderail Repair on Route 322, Port Mountain.

r Mowing on I80; I99 Innovation Park area and ponds and various other locations.

r Patching on I80 eastbound aat 165 mile marker.

r Signs at various locations for repairs and upgrades.

r Shoulder improvements on I99 in various locations; Rotue 45 from Millheim to Centre Hall; Route 4004 Bush Hollow Road; Route 4007 Moose Run Road.

Francis J. Palo, Inc will continue construction on Route 64 in Walker Township near Snydertown Road closest to Lamar. They will have temporary traffic signals in place, along with barriers on the bridge deck for half width construction. That means there is a 12-foot width restriction in place during construction. They will begin removing the asphalt wearing surface from the bridge deck and perform bridge repairs. Next they will place new concrete bridge deck on the structure. The work is anticipated to last until Oct. 2.

In conjunction to the lane closure on Route 64, Snydertown Road will be closed where it intersects with Route 64 nearest to the structure. Anyone wanting to access Snydertown Road will need to do it from Hublersburg side and there will be a detour setup directing motorists. They will be working on removal of barriers, pouring wing extensions and profile mill roadway. They may even get the paving completed depending on the sub-contractors schedule. Lane closure and signals will still be in place for the duration of the work. The bridge deck is still curing and to complete the paving the barriers need removed. To replace the barriers, channelizing devices will be in place for the lane closure.

Francis J. Palo, Inc will continue work on Route 144 in Milesburg which will include superpave asphalt mixtures for base and wearing course, guiderail, pavement markings and miscellaneous construction. The total construction length is approximately 4317 feet (0.82 miles). There will be a lane closure that flaggers will be in place alternating traffic patterns.

Glenn O. Hawbaker will continue construction on I99 in College and Patton Townships. Construction will consist of existing concrete separated limited access highway superpave bituminous pavement, milling and resurfacing, concrete patching, shoulder upgrades, structure repairs and rehabilitation, guiderail, signs, pavement markings and miscellaneous construction. There will be night work starting Sunday, Sept. 9 through Thursday, Sept. 13, paving the Southbound travel and passing lanes.
