Children learn about fire safety, prevention

Renovo Elementary student Corbin

KEVIN RAUCH/THE EXPRESS

Above, the students of the STEP Pre-K class are shown in front of a Kettle Creek Hose Company truck. Ask little boys what they want to be when they grow up and many will tell you a fireman. Corbin, at right, a Renovo Elementary School student, might be one of them. Corbin was all smiles when he got his turn to sit in the driver’s seat of a full-sized fire truck as the school and area crews collaborated for Fire Prevention Week. The Renovo Fire Department, Chapman Township Volunteer Fire Company, Citizen’s Hose Company of South Renovo and Kettle Creek Hose Company all took part in an informational program and also brought some of their equipment to the school for a hands on experience.
