BELLEFONTE — State Rep. Kerry Benninghoff earned another term on Election Day.

Benninghoff, R-Bellefonte, who represents the 171st District, easily defeated his opponent, Democrat Erin Condo McCracken of Millheim.

In Centre County, Benninghoff had 55 percent (13,941) of the vote, while McCracken had 45 percent (11,292) of the vote. Overall, Benninghoff defeated McCracken, 59 to 41 percent.

Benninghoff has been a member of the state House since 1996. Previously, he served two terms as the Centre County Coroner.

The 171st District includes several townships in Mifflin County and a part of Centre County.
