Suspicious man spotted near local schools

Authorities said theywere on the lookout starting Wednesday for a suspicious person hoverin near local schools.

The Keystone Central School District issued an alert that a man “driving a black, Dodge Nitro with a white stripe and Pennsylvania license plate has been witnessed acting with suspicious behavior near local schools. The individual has been seen in both the Renovo and Lock Haven areas. The proper authorities have been notified. No students have been harmed.”

Parents and students are advised that, if they have concerns or witness suspicious activity, to call 911 and report the incident. Parents are reminded to speak with their children about safety, what to do and where to go if they sense a dangerous individual or situation.

The district offered the following safety tips:

– It is important that children try to walk in groups and in well-lit areas where it is easy to find help if needed, whenever possible.

– If a child feels threatened for any reason, he or she should contact a trusted adult immediately.

– Children should always be aware of their surroundings and be extremely cautious if they come into contact with any unknown person in the community.

– Children should never get into the car of a stranger.
