The excitement of having hometown successful basketball coach Gene Bruno return to Bucktail to take over the Bucks varsity basketball program culminated in the coach receiving the Thomas A. Kline Sportsmanship Award. The award is presented annually to either a boys or girls varsity basketball coach that displayed sportsmanship within the Lycoming chapter. Bruno said before receiving the award that he remembers Kline refereeing games when he played high school ball. Bruno returned home after retiring from Milton High School and brought a lifetime of coaching experience to Farwell having coached high school teams as well as Pennsylvania College of Technology Wildcats.
