Express to run candidate political announcements
The Express community newspaper is accepting announcements for public office leading up to the May 2019 Primary Election and will publish those announcements through Thursday, March 14.
Candidates for public office can begin to circulate and file nomination petitions on Tuesday, Feb. 19, with their county voter registration office.
The deadline to file nomination petitions with county voter registration offices in Pennsylvania was 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 12.
The last day for withdrawal by candidates who filed nomination petitions is March 27.
People wishing to announce their candidacy for public office in The Express must provide biographical and community involvement information (examples: memberships to civic and/or service groups, volunteer efforts). We also require you to list your political party membership, and of course the public position you are seeking.
With your announcement, you may submit limited statements of opinion on issues. The Express reserves the right to edit announcements.
The Express will publish a photo of the candidate, if provided, so long as it meets publication criteria.

The last day to register to vote in the 2019 Spring Primary Election is April 22.
The last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot is May 14; the last day your county board of elections can receive voted civilian absentee ballots is May 17.
This year’s Primary Election in Pennsylvania is Tuesday, May 21.
