2019 Wine in The Wilds

on April 27

MACKEYVILLE –The Clinton County Fairgrounds, just one mile north of I-80 on Route 220, is the site of the 4th Annual “Wine in The Wilds” from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.

This is an indoor event featuring wineries, vendors, food, door prizes and music by Kick Trax and DJ1.5.

Whatever the weather you can taste some of the best wines Pennsylvania has to offer, do a little spring shopping and enjoy friend time while you listen to the music.

Tickets are $20 purchased online at www.clintonpahistory.org or $25 at the door on the day of the event. You must be 21 years of age to enter.

RV’s are welcome. Reserve your single or multi-night space with electric and water by calling 570-726-3633. This fundraiser benefits the Clinton County Historical Society.

Genealogical Society looks back

WILLIAMSPORT — The Lycoming County Genealogical Society will take folks back in time with “A Snapshot of Life on the Susquehanna Frontier” at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in the Community Room ata Taber Museum on Fourth Street.

What was daily life like on the Susquehanna frontier? Were they really the “good old days”? What kinds of decisions did farmers make as people came into this region?

Join Bruce Teeple, a writer, local historian, speaker and current president of the Union County Historical Society as he shares the realities of living here in Central Pennsylvania during the 1700s.

The Lycoming County Genealogical Society is an all volunteer organization, whose mission is to encourage interest in genealogy, to exchange information, and to sponsor educational programs.

Centre County PARSE

meeting is Thursday

STATE COLLEGE –The Centre County Chapter of the PA Association of Retired State Employees (PARSE) will meet at Hoss’s Steak and Sea Restaurant in State College on Thursday, April 18, beginning at 11:45 a.m. Hoss’s is located at 1450 N. Atherton Street.

Members and guests are on their own for lunch. The featured speaker is Joyce McKinley, director of Centre County’s Bureau of Elections and Voter Registration.

McKinley will share many interesting facts about the duties and responsibilities that her office provides to the public as well as an update on this year’s purchase of new voting equipment for the 2019 Primary and General Elections.

All PARSE members and retired state employees are encouraged to attend.
