Ann Allison named ‘Friend of the Year’
LOCK HAVEN — Ann Allison, who has been a member of the Friends of the Ross Library for many years, was named Friend of the Year by the organization at its May 13 annual meeting of members and guests. Allison has served as treasurer of Friends for many years.
Each year the Friends presents the Friend of the Year award to a member who has worked to support the Ross Library.
During the meeting, held in Gross Room A at the library, members of the Friends talked about the accomplishments of the group throughout the past year.
Donna Yost, Denice Kramer and Judy Lantz, membership coordinators, have done extremely well. Membership has surpassed last’ years goal, it was reported.
Fundraising chairman Brady Carnahan reported on the traveling reading gnome, soon to be traveling again, along with a spaghetti supper and Wendy’s fundraisers.
Ross Library director Tammy Garrison said the mystery play did very well. She said volunteers will be asked to help at the annual book sale. And Garrison thanked the Friends for fulfilling “the wish list.”
As the meeting ended, Banfill thanked her board for their outstanding work. “Without them,” she said, “the library would not be the important asset it is to the community.”
