Parade, festival to take place June 29
LOCK HAVEN — Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. has put out a request for volunteers, vendors and parade participants for the upcoming 2019 Best of Clinton County festival and parade.
The festival-parade is set for Saturday, June 29, in downtown.
“The event celebrates the best of Clinton County,” Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. board President Bob Rolley said.
The event is sponsored by Downtown Lock Haven and attracts hundreds of people to downtown.
More than 30 vendors have so far indicated they will set up along Main Street, offering a variety of goods from incense to pottery and various arts and crafts.
The festival is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Downtown Manager Samantha Eisenhart said as of this week, no food vendors had signed up for the event but there has been expressed interested from a few.
UPMC and Woodlands Bank will are sponsoring children’s activities during the day that include face painting and Haven Rocks, which encourages children to paint designs on rocks and hide them around the city for people to find.
Downtown Lock Haven is in search of volunteers to help with the kids activities, Rolley said.
Not only will there be crafts and activities to enjoy, the event’s annual parade will take place at 1 p.m. with the line up beginning at noon on Race Street near William T. Piper Memorial Airport.
Downtown Lock Haven is also encouraging local groups and organizations that may like to take part in the parade to sign up. Individuals who may have a tractor or vehicle they’d like to showcase are also encouraged to come to the Downtown office at 205 East Main St. to sign up.
The parade will start at the intersection of Henderson and Water streets and make its way to Main Street, where a judges’ stand will be set up.
At the end of the parade, judges decide award winners.
