Sunny in Renovo

KEVIN RAUCH/THE EXPRESS

Chapman Township residents didn’t let one of the hottest days of summer so far keep them from enjoying the Chapman Township Community Picnic. The fields of Keller and Darby Park were filled with activities for kids and there was plenty of shade from canopies for parents. Chapman’s annual picnic is open to all and many take full advantage of the food and opportunity of a community gathering. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own covered dish to share but Chapman provides plenty of hamburgers and hot dogs. Reptiles from Clyde Peeling made their annual visit to the North Bend Fire Hall for a presentation and water games and an egg hunt with prizes kept kids busy for hours and allowed them to cool down from the warm sun. Photo one, it wasn’t Easter, but boys and girls had a great time running through the fields searching for colored eggs containing prizes. Photo two, Kian Kshir, left, and Mikah Mann take a turn on the long water slide that the kids used all day to cool off in between other activities that Chapman Township offered.
