Children’s Day Camp SET at Winter State Park

MIFFLINBURG — Penn’s Adventurers day camp for children ages 9-12 will be held at R. B. Winter State Park on July 17 and 18. The camp will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

DiscoverE! encourages children to learn more about the world in which we live by getting outdoors to Explore, Experience, and Enjoy the opportunities in our state parks.

Activities will include kayaking, fishing, archery, backpacking and camping skills. The children will learn how to kayak, explore archery and fishing, and gain skills for backpacking and camping in the outdoors. Participants who complete the camp will receive the Bureau of State Parks DiscoverE! – Penn’s Adventurers badge and a certificate.

Pre-registration is required and will be limited to 15 children, on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close on July 14. A minimum of six children is required to hold this event. There is a $10 fee for this day camp.

For more information, or to register, call the park office at 570-966-1455 during normal office hours, Monday-Friday 8am to 4pm. Children will need to bring a bag lunch/drinks each day and be dressed for outdoor conditions, including water shoes, clothes that can get wet and rain gear. Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and bug repellents are also recommended.

If you need an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, please contact the park office, or make inquiries through the Pennsylvania AT&T Relay Service at 1-800-654-5984 (TDD). The Pennsylvania Bureau of State Parks will gladly discuss how to accommodate your needs.
