OLE BULL STATE PARK

∫ On Thursday, August 8 at 10 a.m., bring a camera or cell phone for this high tech “Photo Scavenger Hunt.” Find the items on the list, take a photo, and get a prize. Children will need the help of an adult in order to participate. This program may be cancelled in the event of severe weather. Meet at the amphitheater.

∫ On Friday, August 9, at 3:30 p.m., join the park naturalist to “Hike the Nature Trail.” There will be a discussion about the flora and fauna seen along the trail as well as the history of the area. There will also be a look into trail information and etiquette. All children must be accompanied by an adult. In the event of inclement weather, there may be an alternative program offered. Meet at Pavilion #4 (Stone Pavilion).

∫ On Friday, August 9, at 8:45 p.m., join the park naturalist to watch “The Perseids Meteor Shower” that is peeking this weekend. The bright moon may make it hard to see many of the meteors and stars, but the brighter meteors should be visible. This program will include information on the meteor shower, and some of the constellations that can be found during this time of the year. In case of severe weather, there will be an alternate program at Pavilion #4 (Stone Pavilion). All children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the playground at Camping Area #2.

∫ On Sunday, August 11 at 1:30 p.m., there will be a program about the “Logging Legacy of Ole Bull.” Step back into time and experience the culture of the lumbermen in the late 1800’s. Topics will include the local history and prehistory of the area, the different developments made in the era, and the results at the end of the era. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at Pavilion #4 (Stone Pavilion).

Children will need the help of an adult in order to participate. This program may be cancelled in the event of severe weather. Meet at the Nature Center in Lower Campground.

∫ On Saturday, August 10, at 7:30 p.m., come and learn about some of the different “Raptors” that call the area home. Topics will include their diet, adaptations, and mating habits. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Nature Center in Lower Campground.
