PennDOT announces Centre roadwork

BELLEFONTE – PennDOT Centre County Maintenance announces the following work schedule for this week, weather permitting. Motorists should travel with extra caution in these and all work areas. Motorists should be aware that due to the nature of highway maintenance and emergency work, crews could be working on any highway at any time of the day or night.

r Bridge repair – Route1005, Forest Avenue

r Bridge cleaning -Interstate 80, various locations throughout the county; and Route 322, Philipsburg Mountain

r Surface improvements -Interstate 80, various locations throughout the county; Route 2008, Sinking Creek Road; and Route 2010, Upper George’s Valley Road

r Pipe replacement – Route 3030, Dix Run Road; Route 4002, Clarence Road; Route 4004, Bush Hollow Road

r Drainage improvements – Route 45, Pine Grove Road; Route 3030, Dix Run Road; Route 3049, State Street

r Tree trimming – Route 3006, Valley View Road

r Mowing – Route 322, Seven Mountains

The following work is scheduled to be completed by contractor, weather permitting.

r Glenn O Hawbaker will continue placing scratch and wearing course on Route 45 in Haines Township. They will also perform various depth milling on Route150 in Howard and Liberty Townships.

r Glenn O Hawbaker will continue replacing expansion dams on Route 322, both east and west at the Oak Hall Bridge.

r Glenn O Hawbaker will be working on the Milesburg Truss Bridge on Route 144. They will saw cut and remove sidewalk, remove rivets from upper chord, and sidewalk retrofit.

r Glenn O Hawbaker will be working on Route 322 in the Seven Mountains area. They will be backfilling abutment one and two, pouring pier footer and forming columns for pier. Route 322 is down to one lane (left lane closed) in both EB and WB lanes.

r Glenn O Hawbaker will be working on Route 3014 Atherton Street (Patton and Ferguson Townships, State College Borough). Utility contractor for Columbia Gas will continue gas line relocation. GOH will continue drainage work near Park Forest and Woodycrest. They will also continue with ADA curb ramp work. Pedestrian detours will be placed to avoid ADA work areas. Subcontractor will begin flushing pipes for preparation of cured in place pipe liner. Work will not be performed on May 8 due to restriction for PSU Graduation.
