Found property

WINGATE – State police at Rockview report a wallet was found at the Wingate Sheetz at 1:42 a.m. Aug. 17. Anyone wishing to claim, may contact police at Rockview and identify the wallet.

Swerves to miss deer

LAMAR – Laura Mikitko, of Bellefonte, was not injured when she swerved her car to miss a deer and the vehicle rolled onto its roof, according to state police at Lamar.

The accident occurred at 4:44 a.m. Aug. 12 on the Jacksonville Road, near Fox Hollow Road, in Porter Township.

Driver falls asleep

MILL HALL – Joseph A. Lyons Jr., 34, of Bellefonte, told state police at Lamar that he fell asleep and his vehicle hit the guiderail on Route 220 in Bald Eagle Township at 2:08 a.m. Aug. 12.

Police said Lyons was southbound and his 2000 Ford Explorer drifted across the lane of travel and struck the guiderail then continued along the guiderail for about 50 feet before coming to a stop.

Lyons was not hurt. The vehicle had moderate damage.

Two-vehicle crash

LAMAR – Nobody was hurt in a two-vehicle collision on Nittany Valley Drive in Porter Township at 4:40 p.m. Aug. 12, state police at Lamar report.

Police said Edwin Weaver, 30, of Wellsboro was stopped at a red light when his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Justin Etters, 24, of Beech Creek.

No one was hurt. Both vehicles had major damage.

Vehicle hits culvert

LOGANTON – June E. Welshans, 90, of Loganton, suffered minor injuries after she lost control of her car and it struck a drainage culvert, state police at Lamar report.

Police said Welshans was eastbound on West Winter Road in Loganton Township at 11:45 p.m. Aug. 13, when her car left the roadway.

DUI alleged

SALONA – Misty Handley, 51, of Mill Hall has been charged with driving under the influence following an accident at 12:37 p.m. Aug. 12 in the parking lot near the intersection of Routes 64 and 477 in Lamar Township, state police at Lamar report.

Police said Handley suffered minor injuries in the crash which involved three other vehicles in the parking lot. A passenger in one of the vehicles, Mark Czajkowski, 48, of Clearfield, also suffered minor injuries, police said.

Simple assault

RENOVO – State police at Lamar investigated an incident of domestic violence at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at 2243 Schuylkill Ave., Renovo.

C. Evan Matter, 33 of Renovo was charged with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly choked Jessica Mary Matter of Renovo until she blacked out, police said.
