Simple assault alleged

LOCK HAVEN – Colton David Risley, 20, of 149 Eighth St., Renovo, was arrested for simple assault and reckless endangerment for allegedly punching a person several times about 10:45 p.m. Nov. 27 on South Hanna Street, city police report.

Decorations stolen

LOCK HAVEN – A 5-foot wooden snowman valued at $45 was stolen from a yard in the 100 block of First Street between 1 and 10 a.m. Dec. 9, city police report.

Theft of mail investigation

LINDEN – State police at Montoursville announced they are investigating a string of mail thefts, many of which occurred in the Linden area.

Linden area residents reported mail thefts from Windy Ridge Road, Sunset Drive, Kiess Hill Road, Yergers Road, Meadowood Road, Paulhamus Road, Northway Road Extension, East New Road, Quenshuckney Road, East Emery Church Road, Nearwood Road and Pine Tree Lane.

Police are also investigating incidents on Bruchlacher and Grove roads in Cogan Station and Bottle Run Road in Williamsport.

Residents are encouraged to be aware of and report suspicious vehicles or activity in their neighborhoods, avoid placing outgoing mail in roadside mailboxes if possible, and collect received mail as soon as possible.

Anyone seeing suspicious vehicles or activity that may be related to the above incidents are asked to contact state police at Montoursville at 570-368-5700.
