Access device fraud

HOWARD – State police at Rockview are investigating an incident involving fraudulent purchases made with a debit card without permission about 11:34 a.m. April 13 in Liberty Township, Centre County, Tpr. Jared Ingram of the state police at Rockview reports.

DUI alleged

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT – Cameron R. Cottrell, 26, of 126 Losch Lane, Jersey Shore, is accused of driving while under the influence for an incident that occurred about 7:20 p.m. March 9 at 6468 Route 654 Highway, Bastress Township, Tpr. Travis C. Pena of the state police at Montoursville reports.

Police said on that date Cottrell crashed his vehicle, damaging the property of William Armstrong, who lives at 6468 Route 654 Highway, South Williamsport.

Charges of driving while under the influence were filed in district court, police report.

Property found in river

WILLIAMSPORT – A canoe with a knife inside was discovered in the Susquehanna River at Maynard Street in Williamsport on April 13, Tpr. Daniel Kozak of the state police at Montoursville reports.

The items were taken to the state police at Montoursville barracks and anyone wishing to recover them is asked to call state police at 570-368-5700.

Vehicle rear-ended

MILESBURG – A two-vehicle collision occurred when a vehicle was rear-ended about noon Saturday along Eagle Valley Road, Boggs Township, Centre County, Tpr. Jared Ingram of the state police at Rockview reports.

The two vehicles were both traveling north on Eagle Valley Road, near Curtin Hollow Road, when the driver of the vehicle tailing the other failed to see the vehicle in front of her slowing down and ran into the back of it, police said.

Police did not provide any other details about the persons involved in the incident, although they said the person who struck the other vehicle is being charged for following too closely.

Two-vehicle crash

MILESBURG – Two vehicles crashed about 3:40 p.m. Friday on Eagle Valley Road, Boggs Township, Tpr. Jared Ingram of the state police at Rockview reports.

Police said the accident occurred as Candace L. Caldana, 49, of Snow Shoe was traveling south and Carolyn M. Burns, 62, of Bellefonte, who was traveling north, attempted a left turn onto the Interstate 80 east ramp.

Neither of the women were injured, according to police.
