LOCK HAVEN – A 42-year-old Lock Haven woman accused of sending nude photos to a 17-year-old teen waived the right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday on charges of corruption of minors and sexual abuse of children.

Heather Ann Nixon, 740 E. Main St., Lock Haven, has been charged by Tpr. John Maggs of the state police at Lamar for the offenses alleged to have occurred Sept. 23, 2015.

The misdemeanor and third-degree felony charges are an outgrowth of Nixon’s interaction with the teen in a prohibited sexual act, according to the police complaint.

Last February, Tpr. Maggs said, he was assigned a rape investigation, and during the investigation, Nixon had given consent to Detective John Aston of State College police to search her two telephones.

When the data was downloaded from Nixon’s cell phones and it was discovered that the defendant was in possession of photographs showing the anatomy of the teen.

The search also revealed conversations of sexual acts and naked photographs that were sent to the juvenile from the defendant, police said.
