Four face charges

WILLIAMSPORT – Four area residents have been charged by police with various offenses, according to court records. Those charged and the police departments involved were:

r Jacqueline Renee Brookens, 42, of 339 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, was charged by Williamsport police with felony shoplifting after she was caught allegedly trying to leave the Weis Market, 620 W. Third St., with $48 worth of merchandise on Sept. 22. She was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail, and also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

r Robert Wayne Hill, 33, of 1225 Walnut St., Jersey Shore, was charged by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission with resisting arrest and fleeing authorities following an incident at his home while agents were trying to serve a bench warrant on Aug. 18. He was sent a summons to appear before a district judge.

r Harry J. Miller, 45, of 186 Fencer Hollow Hill, Jersey Shore, has been charged with aggravated and simple assault for allegedly attacking Steve Williams on Eck Road in Anthony Township, Lycoming County, on Sept. 6. He’s free on $25,000 bail.

r Ryan Michael Williams, 29, of Lock Haven, was charged by state police at Montoursville with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly taking Michael Boyce’s backpack at Sheetz on Route 220 in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, in 2014. A bench warrant was expected to be issued after Williams failed to appear for a hearing recently.

Criminal mischief

LINDEN – Tina Marie Howard, 49, and Judith Ann Smith, 73, both of Linden, reported that someone damaged the grass and a bush at their residence, police said. Anyone with any information, please contact the state police at Montoursville at 570-368-5700.
