Bench stolen

SALLADASBURG — State police at Montoursville are investigating the report of a theft of a bench from the property of Lisa Marie Shoemaker, 29, of Salladasburg, between Aug. 11 and Aug. 14.

Police said the property is located at 39 Williamson Alley.

Criminal mischief

LOCK HAVEN — A tire on a parked dump truck was reported cut over the last weekend by Ricelli Enterprises, 603 E. Church St., city police said.

Police said the tire is valued at $600.

Bad checks

LOGANTON — State police at Lamar are investigating a report of bad checks that occurred at 98 E. South St., Loganton.

Police said a 33-year-old Lock Haven woman is accused of writing a bad check on June 22 to a 33-year-old Loganton man in the amount of $238.11.

Home burglary

RENOVO — State police at Lamar are investigating a reported burglary at 6230 Renovo Road, Grugan Township, between July 31 and August 10.

Police said entry was made through a side window. Items taken include a television, microwave and air conditioner.

DUI alleged

CASTANEA — State police at Lamar pulled over a 63-year-old Lock Haven woman for a traffic violation on Route 220 northbound at the Lock Haven exit in Castanea Township at 9:45 p.m. August 12.

After further investigation, the suspect was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Charges will be filed before District Judge Joseph Sanders, police said.

Theft by deception

LAMAR — State police at Lamar investigated an incident of theft by deception at Denny’s, 5809 Nittany Valley Drive, Porter Township, at 8:23 p.m. August 12.

Police said an unknown actor scammed the cashier at Denny’s out of $400 while requesting change for $100 dollar bills. The actor is described as a black man with dreadlocks, wearing a white hat, white button up shirt and black slacks.

DUI alleged

MILL HALL — A 35-year-old man from Mill Hall has been charged with driving under the influence, fleeting and eluding and multiple traffic offenses following an incident at 1:30 a.m. August 15 in the area of 232 Hogan Boulevard, Bald Eagle Township, according to state police at Lamar.

According to police: The driver of a green 1996 Subaru Impreza Outback was observed committing multiple traffic violations. Upon stopping the vehicle, the operator fled the scene and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued onto Route 220 South where the vehicle exited at the Salona exit. At the intersection of Route 220 off ramp and Route 477, a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) was conducted and ended the pursuit.

The actor was taken into custody without incident.

Guns stolen

HANEYVILLE — Carol Ann Benfield of 4553 Queens Run Road, Gallagher Township, reported to state police that a gun safe with three pistols inside was stolen from her residence between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on August 11.

The safe was found on Pine Bottom Road in Lycoming County; the pistols are still missing, police said.
