Vehicle rear-ended

LOCK HAVEN — A two-vehicle accident that occurred on Nov. 7 at about 5:30 p.m. resulted in minor damage to both vehicles, city police said.

Toni A. Baker, of Lock Haven, was driving on Linden Street with a vehicle driven by Paula A. Gentzyl, of Lock Haven, behind her. She told police that she had believed Gentzyl was tailgating her and she was slowing down to make a u-turn; that was when Gentzyl had attempted to pass her and her vehicle struck Genztyl’s.

Gentzyl spoke with police as well and told them that she had been following the vehicle when it had stopped in the road and remained stopped for several seconds. She had attempted to go around the vehicle believing that they were dropping someone off or picking someone up when Baker’s vehicle made a hard left turn and collided with her vehicle.

Witnesses were also at the scene and spoke with police.

Ronald E. Rogers, of Lock Haven, told police that after the crash he heard Baker tell Gentzyl that she was tailgating her so she break checked her.

Nikki S. Betlejewski, of Lock Haven, said that Baker had stopped for several seconds and when Gentzyl began to drive around the vehicle she turned in front of her and caused the crash, police said.

A traffic citation for turning movements and required signals was filed against Baker, police said.
