DUI alleged

HOWARD — An unidentified 48-year-old Howard man may face DUI related charges, state police at Rockview said.

The incident occurred on Oct. 26 at about 12:30 a.m. when the suspect was stopped for a traffic violation, police said.

He was subsequently arrested for DUI, police said, but the investigation continues.

Deer struck by vehicle

BELLEFONTE — A vehicle travelling south on I-99 in Benner Township, Centre County, struck a deer, state police at Rockview said, but the driver was not injured.

The accident occurred on Nov. 13 at about 5:30 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Katelyn E. Gill, 25, of Bellefonte, was merging from the left lane to the right when a deer entered the roadway, police said.

The vehicle, a 2010 Hyundai Elantra, struck the deer. Gill was able to safely pull the vehicle off the roadway.

Gill was not injured and the vehicle was towed from the scene by Walks Towing, police said.
