Indecent

assault alleged

LOCK HAVEN — Henry Sylvester Block IV, 27, of Johnstown, was taken into custody Friday in Lock Haven for indecent assault and corruption of a 12-year-old, city police said. Block was arraigned before Judge Joseph L. Sanders III and bail was set at $1,500, police said.

One-vehicle crash

MILL HALL — A one-vehicle crash occurred at 4:45 a.m. Nov. 30 on Jacksonville Road just south of Kryder Road, state police at Lamar said.

Harold R. Barbe, 83, of Punxsutawney was driving a 2008 Suzuki SX4 east on Jacksonville Road when he lost control of the vehicle on a lefthand turn, police said. The vehicle went into the other lane, struck a concrete barrier, went airborne and landed in a ditch, police said.

Barbe was transported by Goodwill Ambulance Association to Lock Haven Hospital with minor injuries, according to police, and the car had heavy front and rear damage.

Loud music

LOCK HAVEN — Tyler Morgan Shumaker, 22, of Lock Haven, received a citation of disorderly conduct at 11:51 p.m. Saturday for hosting a party at his residence at 505 W. Main St., city police said. Police said loud music from the party could be heard half a block away.

Retail theft alleged

MILL HALL — Devin Wade Nyman, 29, of Blanchard, stole $71.62 of merchandise from Walmart on Nov. 24 at 10:16 p.m., state police at Lamar said. A charge of retail theft has been filed, police said.

Attempted burglary

LOCK HAVEN — Someone forced open the front door of a house in the 1000 block of Checkerberry Lane where Sondra Perry resides, between 10:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27, state police at Lamar reported. The door frame was damaged, but the would-be burglar did not enter, police said.

Animal cruelty

AVIS — A cat was shot with a 22g needle Nov. 27 at Municipal Drive, Avis, state police at Lamar said. The cat was later put to sleep because of its injuries, police said.
