Attempted burglary

LOCK HAVEN — Woodward Township Police reported an attempted break-in on Shirk Hollow Road.

The incident happened on Dec. 4 at about 3:30 a.m. The victim told police that the unknown suspects attempted to force entry into his garage.

A home security system sounded and the suspects departed the scene, police said.


LOCK HAVEN — A Lock Haven man was taken into custody on Dec. 3 at about 1 p.m., city police said.

Rickey A. Barner, 51, of South Highland Street, is accused of strangulation and simple assault after he cut off circulation to the female victim’s throat, police said.

Barner was placed in jail, police said.

One-vehicle accident

LINDEN — Michael D. Flanigan, 51, of Linden, is being charged with immediate notice of accident to police department after an accident that happened Dec. 2, state police at Montoursville said.

The accident occurred at about 8 p.m. when Flanigan was travelling south on Hulings Road in Woodward Township when he lost control of the vehicle causing it to overturn. The 1994 Chevrolet 1500 came to final rest on the driver’s side facing west, police said.

Flanigan fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means, police said.

The vehicle was towed by Aikey’s Towing.

Medication stolen

LINDEN — State police at Montoursville are investigating a theft that occurred at Harvest Moon Park in Woodward Township.

Joyleen Dawn McClements, 45, of Woodward Township, is accused of stealing medication from a 71-year-old woman on Dec. 2 at about 5 p.m., police said.
