Tioga County rape suspect arrested

WILLIAMSPORT — U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane has announced the arrest of Justin Gardner, 32, in Blossburg,

On Jan. 4, 2018, the Sheriff of Tioga County received three separate arrest warrants charging Gardner with failure to appear for sentencing.

Gardner was to be sentenced on charges of indecent assault and indecent assault forcible compulsion.

The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force adopted the case and developed information that Gardner was possibly staying in the Blossburg area.

Monday morning, USMS Fugitive Task Force members located and arrested Gardner without incident in the 500 block of Arnot Road in Blossburg. He was turned over to local authorities pending court proceedings.

Pane stated, “It is important to bring those charged with serious sex crimes to justice. It is my hope that the victim will find comfort knowing the alleged attacker is now in custody.”

The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local agencies; including the Pennsylvania State Police, Lycoming County Sheriff’s Office and the Williamsport Police Department. All of whom participated in the investigation. Additional assistance was provided by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office.
