Inmate drug possession

BELLEFONTE — An inmate was found in possession of drugs on Feb. 14 at 2:45 p.m., state police at Rockview said.

The inmate was found with suspected crack cocaine on their person at the Centre County Correctional Facility, Benner Twp., Centre County, police said.

Window broken

BELLEFONTE — An inmate at Centre County Correctional Facility has been accused of criminal mischief after an incident on Feb. 3 at 2:30 p.m., state police at Rockview said.

The male inmate is accused of hitting a window in a cell door causing it to break, police said.

Police are investigating the incident.

Vehicle strikes tree

HOWARD — The driver of a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by Beech Creek EMS after a one-vehicle accident on Feb. 11 at 7:48 a.m., state police at Rockview said.

Shawna M. Risley, 24, of Howard, was traveling north in the 2700 block of Little Marsh Creek Road, Curtin Twp., Centre County, when the vehicle failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway, police said.

Risley’s vehicle crossed into the southbound lane before traveling north off the roadway and striking a tree on the northwestern side of the roadway, police said.

Risley was charged with driving vehicle at safe speed and her vehicle was disable as a result of the crash, police said.

Vehicle rolled

BELLEFONTE — State police at Rockview responded to an accident with injuries on I-99 in Patton Twp., Centre County, on Feb. 9 at 10:51 a.m.

Ramekia O. Johnson, 39, of Pittsburgh, was traveling north in the left lane of Interstate 99 near mile marker 68 when she lost control of the vehicle and it left the western side of the roadway, police said.

After leaving the roadway, Johnson’s vehicle entered the center median causing the vehicle to overturn, police said.

The 2017 Hyundai Accent rolled multiple times while in the median before coming to final uncontrolled rest in the center median, police said.

Johnson’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and both Johnson and her passenger, Danielle R. Lauw, 40, of Romulus, Mich., were transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by Life Link EMS for suspected minor injuries, police said.

Johnson was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic, police said.

Vehicle strikes utility pole

HOWARD — Igor D. Gerasenko, 18, of Lemont, was uninjured after a crash that occurred on Feb. 4 at 1:30 p.m., state police at Rockview said.

Gerasenko had been traveling north on Hubler Ridge Road, Walker Township, Centre County, police said.

While negotiating a slight left curve Gerasenko’s 2006 Honda Accord slid off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, police said.

The vehicle came to an uncontrolled final rest beside the utility pole which was severed at the bottom and leaning, police said.

Gerasenko’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Tressler’s Towing.

Howard Fire Department and Fire Police assisted on the scene.

Gerasenko was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic, police said.
