Dog law violations
LOCK HAVEN — Trudy L. Calhoun, 220 Shirk Addition Lane, was cited by Woodward Township Police on Monday for violation of dog laws.
Police said she allowed a dog to run at large and failed to license a dog.
LOCK HAVEN — Thomas C. Foster Jr., 40, of 439 Bellefonte Ave., was taken into custody by city police and jailed on a probation detainer at 9:44 a.m. Jan. 31, charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Police said Foster was found in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia at 439 Bellefonte Ave.
LOCK HAVEN — Grant Golden, 20, of 2030 N. Konkle Road, Montoursville, was cited by Lock Haven City Police for underage drinking at 1:23 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the defendant was observed throwing a construction cone in the intersection of West Main and Fifth streets and when he was stopped he was found to be intoxicated and under the age of 21.
PENNS VALLEY — No one was hurt in a two-vehicle accident at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday on Penns Valley Road, at the intersection with Ross Hill Road in Gregg Township, state police at Rockview said.
Drivers were Tiffany C. Stabley, 47, of State College and Douglas P. Bierly, 72, of Spring Mills, police said.
Police said both units were eastbound when Bierly attempted to make a left turn onto Ross Hill Road. Stabley failed to notice Bierly waiting to make the turn and struck the Bierly vehicle.
BELLEFONTE — Jessie J. Richmond, 26, of Bellefonte, was found to be in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia at 7 p.m. Jan. 23, state police at Rockview report.
Police said the location of the incident is 104 N. Allegheny St., Apartment 5.
‘Microsoft’ scam reported
LOCK HAVEN — Residents in the area are reporting a “Microsoft” scam.
Here’s what happened to one resident:
“A phone caller tells you that Microsoft is shutting down and the company is refunding money to its customers. The caller asks for bank information online and then ‘takes over’ your computer, asking you to send them an email saying they can send your money straight to your bank account. From there, they will deposit too much money and send you to Walmart or Target to get gift cards. While you are gone, they will take large sums of money from your bank account. They’ll make you give them the gift card numbers and pins and tell you to shred the cards and that they’ll be calling you the next day to finish up the job.”
If this happens to you, the best course of action is to unplug your computer right away.
STATE COLLEGE — An inmate at the State Correctional Institute in Benner Township, is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted two other inmates on Jan. 21 at 9:15 a.m., state police at Rockview said.
Jose Martinez, 43, of Bellefonte, is accused of smearing suspected human feces on the faces of Darren Richard Gentilquore, 56, and Chad Miller, 42, both of Bellefonte, police said.
Martinez then allegedly struck the victims with a sharpened piece of metal, police said.
BELLEFONTE — State police at Rockview reported a one-vehicle accident that occurred Sunda at 2:42 p.m. in Boggs Township.
George P. Gomola, 85, of Clarence, was driving west on I-80 in the right lane when he lost control of his 2004 Suzuki Forenza and crossed the left lane of travel, police said.
The vehicle struck an embankment about 25 feet south of the roadway, police said.
Gomola was taken to Mt. Nittany Medical Center by Bellefonte EMS for minor back pain, and the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
BELLEFONTE — State police at Rockview are investigating an act of identity theft that occurred sometime on Jan. 2 in Walker Township.
A 35-year-old Bellefonte woman reported an Earth Link account worth $20.05 was opened in her name by an unknown suspect, police said.
Dog laws violated
HOWARD — Jody Renee Masters, of Howard, is charged with dog law violations after she allegedly allowed her dogs to run freely from her property onto the a property at Genes Lane in Curtin Township on Jan. 23 and many occasions before that, state police at Rockview reported.
