Liquor law violations

MONTOURSVILLE — Two Clinton County businesses were charged with liquor law violations by the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement’s Montoursville office, according to a report from that office:

r Old Corner Grill, 205 N. Grove St., Lock Haven, failed to keep patrons away from the area used to store liquor, malts or brewed beverages, the bureau said. Charges were brought before an administrative law judge who will impose a fine between $50 to $1,000, the bureau said.

r Bob’s Tavern, 111 W. Central Ave., Avis, is accused of selling alcohol to minors, the bureau said. Charges were brought before an administrative law judge who will impose a fine between $50 to $1,000, the bureau said.

Both businesses may be required to retrain employees in an effort to educate them on the requirements of being a licensee, the bureau said.

Complaints received: 81; licensed establishments that sold alcohol to an underage buyer: 5; establishments that sold alcohol to an underage buyer: 1; letters issued for violations of liquor laws: 14; warning letters issued for violations of liquor laws: 21; citations issued for underage consumption, possession etc.: 7; criminal arrests: 1.
