Renovo man involved in high speed chase

SPRING MILLS — A 34-year-old Renovo man was life-lighted to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after he crashed his 2005 Yamaha motorcycle into an SUV and two other vehicles on Aug. 24 at 10:55 p.m., state police at Rockview said.

The driver, who was not named, was being pursued by Lewistown state police from Armaugh Township, Mifflin County, with speeds reaching over 100 miles per hour, into Centre County near Seven Mountains Campground, Spring Mills, police said.

The driver drove into oncoming traffic at the split of General Potter Highway and Old Fort Road where he struck an eastbound SUV and two other westbound vehicles that were stopped, police said.

He was life-lighted to Geisinger Medical Center for serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the SUV, who was not named, sustained a minor injury, police said.

General Potter Highway was closed for approximately four hours while the crash was reconstructed, police said.

Police were assisted on scene by PennDOT and Centre Hall Fire Company, police said.

The investigation is still active, police said.
