Aggravated assault

LOCK HAVEN — John Tyler Hafer, 22, of Lock Haven, has been charged with aggravated assault, strangulation, simple assault and harassment after allegedly striking and then choking his wife.

City police said they were called to the Hafer residence on West Fourth Street on Dec. 24 at approximately 11 p.m.

Hafer was taken into custody and placed in jail, police said.

No injuries in crash

BELLEFONTE — A crash occurred on Dec. 26 at approximately 7 a.m. on Interstate 99 South, in Spring Township, Centre County.

A driver of a 2017 International Harvester was trying to merge into another lane and failed to see a 1992 Oldsmobile traveling in that lane, striking the rear driver side quarter panel of the vehicle, state police at Rockview said. The names of the drivers were not released, as no injuries were sustained as a result of the crash, police said.

Harassment alleged

BELLEFONTE — A 34-year-old Bellefonte woman was arrested for harassment after she slapped a 34-year-old Howard man during a domestic violence altercation on Dec. 16 in Walker Township, state police at Rockview said.
