Alleged assault

SPRING MILLS — A 33-year-old woman from Aaronsburg has been charged with assault after she allegedly struck her mother, 59, of Spring Mills, in the face causing bodily injury, according to state police at Rockview.

Police said the incident occurred on Feb. 15 on North East Street, Haines Township, at approximately 3 p.m.

Minor driver strikes mailbox

ORVISTON — A 17-year-old driver from Loganton has been charged after driving an unregistered 1991 Jeep Cherokee through a yard at 9 Front St., striking a mailbox at the residence and knocking it to the ground, state police at Rockview said.

The jeep was located and identified, with the driver relating to police that he did hit the mailbox and left because he was “scared,” police said. The driver stated that the vehicle was not registered, had no license plate and had no insurance, police said.
