Vehicle rear ended

BELLEFONTE — Two vehicles received disabling damage after a two vehicle crash on North Eagle Valley Road, Boggs Township, Centre County on May 30 at 7:44 a.m., state police at Rockview said.

Christopher D. Jones, 28, of State College, was driving his 2012 Honda Civic behind a 2010 Kia Forte, driven by Megan E. Lose, 30, of Bellefonte, when he failed to see her slow down due to another vehicle turning off the roadway, police said.

Jones was unable to slow his vehicle in time and struck Lose’s vehicle, police said.

Jones was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center by Bellefonte EMS for minor injuries, police said.

Jones was issued a citation for careless driving, police said.

DUI results in crash

HOWARD — Alcohol may be the reason behind a one vehicle crash on Built Run Road, Howard Township, Centre County, state police at Rockview said.

Joseph B. Gates, 20, of Howard, was traveling southeast on the roadway early on May 4 when he failed to complete a left curve, police said.

Gates’s 2007 Ford F350 traveled across the roadway, striking two trees before overturning into the roadway, police said.

Gates was able to free himself from the vehicle before police arrived, police said.

Through investigation, it was found that Gates was under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Gates was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, police said.
