Covenant UM hosts ‘Shoe Tree’

LOCK HAVEN — Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., is hosting the “Shoe Tree” for the Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank.

Donations of new sneakers, new socks, and books for kids and teens may be dropped off at the church, to be placed under the tree by the front door. The church office is generally open weekday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon.

The Shoe Bank gives free good-quality sneakers, socks and a book to eligible children and young people, from wee ones through age 17. Located inside Covenant Church, it is open the third Saturday of the month (today) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

United Lutheran to decorate

LOCK HAVEN — Decorating for Advent at United Evangelical Lutheran Church will follow 9 a.m. worship on Sunday, Nov. 26.

Elaine Barth concert is Sunday

LOCK HAVEN — First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St., will host the annual Christmas concert by Elaine Frederick Barth, Sunday at 7 p.m. with a prelude at 6:30. Special guests this year include the Renovo Community Choir, Kim Feerrar, Cathy Winslow, Esther Salmon and the Kid Notes.

First Baptist to mark milestone

LOCK HAVEN — First Baptist Church will celebrate 150 years of ministry at its only permanent home, on the corner of East Church and Vesper streets. The celebration will be tomorrow, starting at 9:30 a.m. with an hour of reflections, followed by worship at 10:30 a.m. (Reservations are already in for the lunch that will follow the service.)
