Motorcycle club donates to Prayer Shawl Ministry
Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle Club recently presented the Prayer Shawl Ministry of Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church in Mill Hall with a $400 donation to purchase yarn. The motorcycle club has joined forces with the prayer shawl ministry and they are making history. Our prayer shawl ladies, which now number in the 30’s, do the needle work and the motorcycle club distributes a lot of the items during what we call the Annual Knit N Run. The handmade items are distributed to local nursing homes, personal care homes, emergency rooms and urgent care centers. These items are not just “dropped off,” the motorcycle club makes a point of going in and visiting with the residents, eating cookies with them and sometimes even singing with them. In addition to the Knit N Run, the prayer shawl ministry makes items for Hope Enterprise, the Gate House in Williamsport and any other need that arises. We have different ministries within the prayer shawl ministry, which include an infant ministry, along with a hat, mitten, scarf, lap robe, prosthesis and of course, prayer shawl ministry. Everyone is working on something different. The prayer shawl ministry would like to thank the motorcycle club. They are our “Wheels in Motion,” said Pastor Susan Champion.
