Blanchard church to talk missions

BLANCHARD — The annual Love Feast and congregational meeting at Blanchard Church of Christ will be held Sunday, Jan. 28 after worship.

The Love Feast, at 12:15 p.m., is a meal of soup, bread and dessert served by the youth. Donations will be taken for a local family in need.

The meeting, at 1:15 p.m., is a chance to discuss the ministry of the congregation in 2018 and to vote on leadership and budgets.

Also at the church, the after-school program King’s Kids will start its winter session this coming Monday. Parents of children who did not participate in the fall may contact the church for a permission slip and information.

St. John’s UCC slates potluck

TYLERSVILLE — St. John’s United Church of Christ will have a potluck dinner and its annual meeting after the 9:45 a.m. Sunday school time, on Sunday, Jan. 28. Bring a covered dish to share and your own place settings for the potluck. Meat will be provided.

St. James to host Valley Churches

RAUCHTOWN — St. James Lutheran Church will host the Valley Churches’ celebration of Christian Unity at 7 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Max Furman preaching.

St. John plans lunch, meeting

JERSEY SHORE — The annual meeting of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., will be held Sunday following the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

The youth will serve a penne pasta dinner with meatballs following worship and before the meeting to thank the congregation for its support. Bring your own place settings.

Lunch, games at Avis UM

AVIS — A soup and sandwich luncheon will be held at Avis United Methodist Church after worship on Sunday. Bring a casserole to share and a favorite card or board game. Drink and place settings will be provided.
