Summer picnic/sing

SPRING MILLS — Everyone is invited to a summer picnic/sing Friday, Aug. 10 behind Fellowship Bible Church at the pavilion at 642 Lower Georges Valley Road.

The guest singers are The Needhams from Murfreesboro, Tenn. and The Covalts.

The picnic meal is at 6 p.m. and singing is at 7 p.m. Food and drink are provided. Bring a lawn chair.

Clintondale to host

combined service

CLINTONDALE — A combined service for Youth Sunday tomorrow will be held at 9 a.m. at Clintondale United Methodist Church, with Mackeyville United Methodist attending also. The youth and children will participate in the service.

Lutheran churches

set annual picnic

ROTE — The annual parish picnic for Southern Clinton County Lutheran Parish is planned Sunday, Aug. 5 at Long Run Park, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The day will start with Holy Eucharistic worship.

Everyone from all five churches, visitors and friends are invited. Bring table service, drinks, and a covered dish to share.

An indoor worship service with Holy Communion will be offered at 9 a.m. at United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lock Haven for those who are unable to attend the picnic. Pastor Karl Runser will preside and preach at both services.

School supply give-away

at Liberty Baptist

BLANCHARD — Liberty Baptist Church will host a school supply give-away event Sunday starting at 6 p.m.

Community students from preschoolers through 12th graders are invited to “shop” in the church gym and pick out free backpacks and school supplies. Free clothing and haircuts are also available for community kids who should come with clean, dry hair.

The give-away is first-come, first-served while school supplies, clothes, haircut time slots, and backpacks last.

It begins with a short program. The children and their families are then released by number corresponding with their arrival at the event. Refreshments will be provided.

Stabler’s Grove Camp

Meeting continues

SALLADASBURG — The 83rd Stabler’s Grove Camp Meeting continues today and tomorrow at 535 Picnic Woods Road, Jersey Shore, with sessions with evangelist Steve Housewright from 7 to 9 p.m. A canned and dry food collection for the hungry will be taken each night.

Music will be provided by CrossFyre tonight and Cheryl Frymire on Sunday.

Tonight is youth night with a hot dog roast (food and drink provided).

The camp meeting is an ecumenical ministry sponsored by the Sunday School Association of Lycoming County, District 11.

‘Whale of a Time’

OVAL — “Jonah’s Whale of a Time” Vacation Bible School is offered at Oval United Methodist Church with sessions from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Four-year-olds through eighth graders are invited. The church is at 6796 State Route 44 Hwy., Jersey Shore.
